About Re-inVEND

It's a love affair with vending machines

No more conventional COFFEE & TEA vending machines – Singapore up the game!

These machine grew up with us – we see them inside hospitals, schools and sometimes right inside our office pantries where we pay the least attention to them. Some of us see these machines almost everyday. (Photo from Google)

They offer coffee, tea, Milo and soft drinks with customisable options like sugar level, milk and ice. Powdered or syrup form with a water tank inside the machine to make our Singaporean favourite drinks. This amazing innovation had been around for more than 5 decades FYI.

In recent years we started seeing more atas looking coffee vending machines retailing more premium coffee. Selections were lesser than before but footprint smaller and easier to maintain. (Photo from Google)

As I started writing again, I received photos of the NEW type of #coffeevendingmachines that can be found around Singapore. Not anywhere else, in SINGAPORE!

Spotted at AMK hub.

Spotted at a Shell petrol kiosk.

WOW! These are lifestyle statements. They make the product inside the machines look so appetising. Instead of “I have no choice but to buy because I want a drink” (convenience mentality) to “a, maybe I should give the product a try” or “I can only get this here!” (shopping mentality).

As a fan of #Yakun, if it is branded by Yakun, I think the dabao machine is gonna take my money everyday on Kopi-c!

I see they have the NEA licenses too, at least giving me some trust on the hygiene of custom-made #drinksvendingmachines. I hope they are not Chinese-made as from my knowledge thus far, they are innovative but not too stable yet. I do not want to hold my Kopi-c in liquid form, on my hands (dispensing fail).

But still, a new visual pleasing channel to consider for the branded coffee players pretty please…!

If you see any more interesting vending machines or automaton kiosks, write to me with your thoughts about them, good or naughty, all accepted. reinvend@gmail.com 🙂

Long Hiatus: But coming back with SUPER EXCITING vending experiences – Workforce Singapore (WSG) Adapt & Grow Town with #FREEGIFTS

Events are revolutionising in Singapore too.

Finding temporary manpower is such a bitch. You post a job Ad (add money for urgent posts), answer to enquiries like “more pay/hour pretty please..”, gets rejected for “too far for me sorry” and after all these, some do not turn up last minute ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT. #$&%#$%#!

Hence WSG adopts vending machines to do the job. Not ALL the jobs on site, as it will be a breach of why THEY (WSG) exist in the first place – but certain functions like giving out #freegifts if you complete their #marketingresearch survey on the campaign. The video explains it all. WATCH IT!

The Adapt & Grow Town Roadshow is pretty interesting in my opinion. They have been to various malls since Feb 2019. The nationwide campaign is for Singaporeans to understanding the career and skills upgrade opportunities available in the market. In additional, to get in-touch with new technologies available in the roadshow, like vending technology. Well, WSG is a part of MOM that’s why. Our taxes put into educating ourselves again..so be there to get the #redemptiongift as we paid for it. HAHA.

I had a go – of course. I got a bamboo fibre coffee cup! But I really wanted the bamboo fibre lunch box though.. The gifts are pretty good! I also got a transport card and tote bag for participating in the games in the roadshow.

Vending technology has come to the stage of #redemption (not paying cash), Answer, Scan, Dispense – seamless and manless. Looking forward for more as I scout, look out for this blog 🙂

How lucky it is to have chanced upon another exciting new find when shopping around Robinson Orchard!

The design of the vending machine seemed normal at the first glance but taking a closer look, they were dispensing magazines! :0 This machine provides 3 of the latest issues of August Man and are priced at only $7.90 each! To avid readers of August Man – is it much cheaper to get them from these machines??

Anyway, head down to Robinson Orchard and get a copy of them right now 🙂

Fancy a towel after working out?

Look at who has joined the lovely vending machine family! 😉

After posting about machines selling atas products such as SKII gifts, Labseries cosmetics and even CK underwear, we finally see one that provides us with a basic necessity at sporting venues – FRESH TOWELS (for the forgetful, at least?).

Spotted at Level 1 of the Singapore Sports Council, this machine claims to sell 100% cotton towels in various shapes, sizes and colours. And guess what, there were also muscle rubs and sunscreen lotions on sale! Would you ever get them from such machines?

Thank you Sports Council for such a thoughtful addition 🙂

What, did you just say ‘Underwear Vending Machine’?

Voted as one of the 20 Strangest Vending Machines in the world, the Calvin Klein Underwear vending machine has finally arrived in Singapore! (Pictures above are from the USA)

Spotted along TANGS Orchard, these vending machines present a refreshing and revolutionizing way of purchasing underwear!

Embracing such unusual concepts, CK has definitely taken a brilliant step in fusing interactivity, convenience and sleek design into one compact machine. Kudos to Calvin Klein!

On a side note, there are rumours that the prices are up to 10% less than retail price. Check them out lest they run out!!
