These machine grew up with us – we see them inside hospitals, schools and sometimes right inside our office pantries where we pay the least attention to them. Some of us see these machines almost everyday. (Photo from Google)
They offer coffee, tea, Milo and soft drinks with customisable options like sugar level, milk and ice. Powdered or syrup form with a water tank inside the machine to make our Singaporean favourite drinks. This amazing innovation had been around for more than 5 decades FYI.
In recent years we started seeing more atas looking coffee vending machines retailing more premium coffee. Selections were lesser than before but footprint smaller and easier to maintain. (Photo from Google)
As I started writing again, I received photos of the NEW type of #coffeevendingmachines that can be found around Singapore. Not anywhere else, in SINGAPORE!
Spotted at AMK hub.
Spotted at a Shell petrol kiosk.
WOW! These are lifestyle statements. They make the product inside the machines look so appetising. Instead of “I have no choice but to buy because I want a drink” (convenience mentality) to “a, maybe I should give the product a try” or “I can only get this here!” (shopping mentality).
As a fan of #Yakun, if it is branded by Yakun, I think the dabao machine is gonna take my money everyday on Kopi-c!
I see they have the NEA licenses too, at least giving me some trust on the hygiene of custom-made #drinksvendingmachines. I hope they are not Chinese-made as from my knowledge thus far, they are innovative but not too stable yet. I do not want to hold my Kopi-c in liquid form, on my hands (dispensing fail).
But still, a new visual pleasing channel to consider for the branded coffee players pretty please…!
If you see any more interesting vending machines or automaton kiosks, write to me with your thoughts about them, good or naughty, all accepted. reinvend@gmail.com 🙂
